Labor compliance, start to finish.

Certified payroll, apprenticeship, registration, and agency reporting for contractors, developers, and public agencies.

Where projects go wrong

Most violations are honest mistakes. They cost the same.

Most prevailing wage violations aren't intentional. They come from busy offices filing reports nobody had time to check. These are some of the most common.

  1. 01

    The wrong classification

A laborer runs the skid steer for three days. On paper he's still a laborer, and the gap to the operator rate is now back wages.

  2. 02

    Apprentices outside the rules

A worker paid apprentice rates who isn't registered in that craft, an apprentice paid the wrong period rate, or apprentice hours that fall short of the 1:5 ratio by the end of the job.

  3. 03

    Fringe credits that don't annualize

A health plan that also covers private work has to be annualized. Credit taken at the full hourly amount becomes an underpayment.

  4. 04

    California daily overtime

Four 10-hour days come to 40 hours, but on a California public works job that can still mean two hours of overtime a day unless the determination allows a 4x10 schedule.

  5. 05

    A sub who stops reporting

Three weeks of missing payroll from a second-tier sub, and the awarding body withholds the prime's progress payment, not the sub's.

  6. 06

    IRA records nobody kept

Apprentice requests that lapsed, no daily ratio logs, or payroll missing classifications. The 5x credit depends on records the IRS reviews years later.
